I had been on the list and evidently first, to see new K10D at Roberts Distributors in Indianapolis, IN. I live in Carmel a suburb. Went over and loved the feel of new body (Currently own DS). The price for the body...$869.97!!! I bought it and battery is charging as I write this message. While there another fellow asked about it and he wants the next one they get. Anxious to take photos.

It is a bit larger, heavier and fatter than the DS, but not like the D200.

Is it really true that you can pick the K10D up for less than $900 in the US?

The best price currently offered in the UK is £600 which equates to about $1200, hmmmph!

Best price I've seen the body only listed for is $838.10 (from buy.com), but the website says they are out of stock, so who knows what the price will be when they actually have them.

I've seen a few places with the body +18-55mm kit lens for $950 plus or minus $10.

Hi Steve,

There is one forsale On Fred Mirandas Buy/Sell forum. He wants $949.00 with a 2gb SD card. They guy bought it and now wants to go back to a Canon. His choice.

Myself Steve, I would wait a couple of months till all the bugs are worked out and all the firmware updates have been released. But that is just the way I am... :-)

Rudy,

I agree it'll probably come down in price once the market has got enough in numbers. So like you I'm going to wait and see what happens.

We have to pay duty on any imports into the UK (apart form the rest of europe of course) also dealers in the UK won't touch anything imported therefore guarantee's are voided.

I still can't work out why there is such a price difference - it's probably 'cause in the UK we will pay (but still moan about it).
