Love them, especially #2. Don't know why, but that one really appeals to me, more than the others, though they are all very good. And I'm like Paul - all of your pictures are getting under my skin. This could be a really expensive Christmas!

Real nice captures Jim but I hope you don't mind me mentioning that bird shots look a bit "soft" like you've used anti noiseware on them.

Sorry to be pedantic.

Cheers:Ian Mc.

Great set of birding pics! Here's my 2 cents.
1) i see alot of noise and grain, but not too distracting. probably a tight crop. a noise reduction program should help.
2) very nice heron shot actually. good clarity and sharpness.
3) great detail on the feathers, however noise level is pretty high on this picture and is quite distracting. great capture though considering that it is in flight.
4) good depth of field on the red berries. would suggest increasing the contrast to make the red color pop more.
5) great shot of that sand piper(?). really dig the reflection. the only thing i would suggest is clone out that branch in the top left corner. it just pulls my eyes away from the subject.
6) this one is the best of the bunch. perhaps just a touch more contrast. otherwise it is perfect.

well done.

At the extreme end of a consumer zoom , this is just the best anybody can do particularly with heavy cropping.

Jim' s skill in execution is undisputed

Jim, great shots. I have a question about your lens, however. How do you like it, and what are the pros and cons you have experienced with your Tamron? Am considering one, would like your opinion.

Hi,

These are some of the best shots I have seen with a 28-300mm lens.:GI use a 28-200mm. Oh, Put a little snow or Ice in the picture will you. I would feel so jealous of you in all that Nice warm Weather...:?
