This is the follow up to the original Bees and Bugs thread. I took those only a few days later with the same lens, although a completely different light situation. The little flowers had already opened and the Bees are finally getting the pollen out. The color cast looks a little different between them, because I was trying out different RAW converters, and after all was set and done I was just too lazy to try to give them all the same color temperature and look.

Yellow Saddlebags

Close up. I have a little bit of mixed feelings about this one. The left wing covering part of the body makes it appear out of focus, but I liked the way how the fine pollen on the hair and the right wing came out...

Although not really crisp and sharp I thought I post this one because it has the flying bee in the background and there is also that Ant which seems to be watching the whole situation. A 3in1 basically :-)

There you go again - posting absolutely perfect macros when I'm really struggling with them right now. I love these shots - the pollen on the bees, the detail on the wings. The last one is cool and I like how you can see the fuzz/hair on the bee's neck.

Very cool shots!

Also, What lens was used for these shots? a dedicated macro?

Are there any RAW converters that are compatible Windows Me? Any free ones?

Yes the lens is a dedicated Macro lens. A manual focus 105mm f 2.8. That model is a very popular lens in this forum. I think the newer Raw Converters are all designed for XP only, but I think Raw-shooter Essentials works on ME and could be still available - although it will not work with the K10D.
