Hello - newbie (to auto-focus DSLRs) has question on lens compatability for my Samsung GX-1L. I purchased a 50mm 1.4 screw mount and adapter and a 28mm2.8 "K" mount off ebay. The Screw mount and adapter will mount and work in manual mode as the screw mount adapter is covered in a thin layer of black non-conductive paint. The 28mm2.8 when mounting causes the LCD display on the top of the camera to read "A--" and the camera does not work as the camera to lans contacts have been shorted out. I put a piece of Scotch tape on the lens covering the area where the camera body contacts would normally touch and it works fine now. Obviously I had the camera set to manual focus mode. I was wondering if this is what everybody does or if there is a way in the camera setup menus to disable these camera body to lens contacts so the Scotch tape was not needed?

If I recall correctly, I had to change one setting to use non-"A" bayonet mount lenses on my K100d. I checked my menu and I believe the one I changed was under Custom and was titled "Use Aperture Ring." My current setting is 2. Try that and see if it does not work for you. If I am wrong, someone should chime in with the right setting to change.
