Bit the bullet and ordered a used Tamron 90mm, f2.8 lens from KEH. Based on previous posts about KEH's ratings, it should be nearly new (rated excellent). Saved about $150 buying it used (saved $20 in sales tax alone which payed for 2nd day air shipment). I will post first shots when I receive the lens later this week.

I had been doing pretty well on my 12 f-stop program, but there was no one to call to talk me out of it.

Oh my goodness, I also won a Sigma auto focus 400mm lens F 5.6On e-bay this morning for $106.00!!!

Here is one idea: check the FA* 300mm F4.5 going on eBay right now. That should liquidate your bank account and teach you a lesson:-)

i hope it's the AF or APO version because the non APO version was a good paperweight. well, it was ok if you stopped down to f8-11 but i wanted to handhold it.
