This is one of my first shots with my DS and a newly arrived Tokina AF100-300 F5.6-6.7. This is very close to the low end of the zoom. I left all the decisions up to the camera and there has been no post processing. It is about 100% crop.



(Phew! I didnt know how hard this all is! :-))

I have some success in getting some wildbird stationary for a split second. But I have made no inroad in getting some decent in-flight pict. Yours is a lot better than mine..

Daniel, thanks for the encouragement. If the weather is kindly tomorrow I am going to cheat, I will buy some fish and chips and I will be able to get those wild seagulls on a macro setting!

Your subject title tells it all - at least your picture got the bird. Do you know how many pictures I've taken of an empty pier or a set of tail feathers?!
