I had the Pentax DS for a few weeks now and love it. I thought that SR would be really great so I bought the K100D to replace it. I just got the K100D in today and I was testing it out in my room. I notice that when I had the SR on, I heard a small humming sound coming from the camera when the shutter mirror was open/up. It stopped right after the shutter closed. I notice it a little even with the SR off, but hardly.

The humming sound is only noticable in log exposer shots. The test shots that I was taking was at 1/20 to 4 sec long exposer.

Is this normal for this camera? I am guessing this is the SR thingy that is making the noise. The SR on my camera DOES WORK and it works REALLY WELL from the test shots that I've recently shot. But I am just wondering if this is something that I should be concered about.

you're correct. it's the SR moving the sensor around.

Yep...I hear it too. Sometimes it seems louder than other times. All I know is that it works VERY well. :-)

That is good to know. Now I don't have to worry about it anymore.
