Driving to Henderson, MN this morning when I see this eagle standing on the ice near a small patch of open water. Find new 400mm lens, change lenses, format card, reset ISO, open car door and see the eagle start to raise its wings, snap off a hand held shot.....

Oh well, it did give me an excuse to try the 400mm as I rested it on the top of the car...

i had a hard time shooting with mine w/o some support. shooting with it from a prone position was best. this is about the best i got from it and required more PP than i wanted to do. that's why i sold it.. non-APO vesion MF
