Thanks all for your kind comments.

I'm actually a bit more impressed by the way the woodpecker shots turned out tho . . . I shoot a lot of long tele, and when the distance increases, the results are usually less than stellar for me, as the smallest amount of handshake turns distant subjects into tiny blobs of color, that usually make reasonable IDs hard, if not impossible.

I guess I should've included a full frame shot from which the crop was taken . .



And to make the comparison easier, the cropped version again:



I think that it's a pretty good example of the benefits of the high resolution and SR that the K10 brings to the table. (and using the FA*300/4 didn't hurt either:-)) Even at very high shutter speeds, my trusty DS with the same lens could not have given me this good a result.

Thanks -- I figured that out looking through a couple of books. I assumed WP because of its behaviour, but then looking at the bill make me think otherwise, plus there just weren't any WP that looked like this -- first one that I'd ever seen. . .
