Can anyone tell me what type of USB cable the Pentax cameras use, I have a DL and can't find my cable. I know it's a smaller connector, so the cables from my other P&S cameras don't work.

I tried ordering one online, but ended up buying the wrong one, does anyone know what the cable is called, or where to order it from?

Thanks in Advance!

It's not direct from Pentax, so I'd caution you to "use at your own risk", but it sure looks like the right one. Check it out:

I know that it's handy to have the cable for the camera, but I'd use a card reader to transfer images wich I find faster & easier to use.

I've actually gotten into the habbit of using the cable with my K100D. I don't know why really. For some reason it seems less stressful on the equipment than removing my SD card and putting it in a reader, then pulling it out of the reader and putting it back in the camera. When I used to do that with my old camera, there were a few times that I forgot and left the card in the PC reader. :?

I mentioned this before, but I have a friend that fried his Canon downloading directly from the camera using USB and I never do that now.

A card reader is much handier and safer.

The first & only time I tried the USB lead, I thought that I'd broken the socket on the camera - it's so tiny. Now that was stressful.

I think you need a mini usb plug that will fit the camera end.
I checked at tigerdirect.com...they seem to have the cable.
See the link below. I think it is the right cable - dont hold me to it though.

Oops...I may be wrong....If I recall, one end of the cable is a standard USB connector while the other end is a very small commector that connectt to the camera. I think it is smaller than the "mini" plug I refer to in my previous posting.

Radio Shack has a Cable with multiple jacks so you can customize the cable to your needs. COsts about 30 bucks. You can try it.

Best bet would be to take the camera to a computer sotre and cgeck out a cable that works.

Sorry if I misled you above.
