I regularly use older lenses and find centre weighted metering more than adequate.

Spot metering is for difficult scenes where the expusure of a particular segement is paramount and the rest will not be exposed correctly due to variations in lighting.

Bu tremeber when all else fails check the histogram and if that suggests a need to adjust you can shoot again.

Maybe there's a form for suggestions somewhere on the site... if enough people suggest it maybe they will look into it... I think the odds of that are a bit better than the guys at pentax reading this forum.
