Yes, number 11 is my daughter (in this league). I will have to try manual white balance next time I get to a tournament (I carry a grey card with me).

Wow, was my last post in need of a re-reading before clicking send! Yikes! I guess that's what happens when I post quickly from work. Anyway, here's a sample of my attempt at the dark basketball gym. I'm still getting used to the lens and shooting manual focus, but they turned out a lot better than the kit lens shots did.

Turned out quite nice. Wow, I have never seen a white gym floor.

When I used my manual f/1.4 or f/1.7, I would focus on a spot on the floor and wait until some action happened there, then shoot.

Kind of tough for a sport like basketball (worked fine for track).
