first photos taken with my new Pentax *ist DL...using a Sigma 18-50mm lens. the kit lens. i'm new to DSLR's. so this is my first attempt.

Very nice shots. I like the color saturation and perspectives of the shots. Try resizing the images larger for viewing. Then we can appreciate more of the details. Good work!
