How do you find outthe total pictures taken from day one with the K10D,

even after you wipe the memory card & start over again?

there is a setting in the menu to use athe number as the file name. in other words, just look at the file name and it will tell you.
IGMP0034.pef is the 34th pic
IGM0084 .jpg is the nunber of the shot. file names change depending on if you shoot in raw or jpg but the number does not..

I've not yet tried the camera out, my father picked it up for me over a week ago while I work offshore. I can't wait to get home on Tuesday to try it out. It's been a long two week wait.

The camera can be set to reset the numbering for each new (or erased card), but the default is continuous numbering. Not sure what happens when you go over 10,000 though.

On my old Canon Rebel it would up the directory folders numbers by 100. Pentax may do that too. (ie 1xx would be 0-10K, 2xx would be 10,001-20K, etc)


As long as you leave it continuous it will reflect the total frames shot. (or since last reset)
