Folks - I have a istDL and noticed that whenI chose program mode with my pop-up flah, or my Pentax AF-360FGZ it uses ISO of 400 and a shutter speed of 45. The lens in use is the Kit lens 3.5 - 5.6 ff.

I know, and have reset setting to get a higher speed, but just was wondering if this was NORMAL, or is something amiss?

Bowenp,

I have a DL and just did a little experiment with it. I put it on P, popped up the flashand it went to a shutter speed of 30 and an f-stop of 3.5 at 18 mm. As I moved up to 24mm it changed to 40 and f-stop of 4.0. When I went to 55mm it switched to 80 with the f-stop at 5.6. It seemed tobe the same onAUTO PICT.I aimed it at my wife's crafttable (about 4 feet away) and then tried it in our living room from corner to corner, about 20 feet. It was always the same. The ISO stayed at 200 for all the shots.

Thanks I'll try the exact same procedure and see if it replicates your experience. Bottom line it sounds as if the camera does not assume you would want at least a shutter of 60 when using a flash when on program.

Thanks for the feedback.
