Had the chance to get to the Zoo in January. It was around 50 degrees or so, which proved to be one of the most successful trips to date (for picture taking at least).

All I have to say about the Kiron 105mm Macro is WOW!

Hope you guys feel the same about some of them as well.

Still think my depth of field is off at times. But half of these were indoors with terrible lighting.

Thanks for looking,

Fred

Fred,

Those are some really nice pictures. The gorrilla is great just because of the expression on his/her face! Thanks for posting.

it's the ice bear for me. Definitely. Great shots - sharp and clear.

I always felt 105mm a bit short in terms of range, even if it's something like 160mm in analog terms. But this is coming from the Oly C770 with 36-360mm zoom.

I really have to adjust a bit more towards the wide end I think.

Wow Fred! You did good! It's shots like these that make the Kiron such a cult classic.

Thanks Glenn,

The gorilla is a Boy, and he was watching his mother. The Zoo says that he has ust realized that he is now bigger than his Mother and is always testing her.

thkn777 thank for the nice comment,

I also have a Olympus c750 ultrazoom. Sometimes I miss the zoom factor, but haven't picked it up since getting the *ist DL. I now trying compose the shots more thinking about the lens attatched.

Kevin thanks alot.

I'm just glad I found such a good deal. It really is a super lens. I can only imagine what this lens could do in the hands of a pro.
