Ronny, Your bird looks great! For what it's worth, I seem to use AF for BIF as they are moving too fast to use MF. I've tried CAF but have never been real happy with it. As to keeping the birds in the VF I keep both eyes open with the right eye to the VF and the left eye helping to track the birds / planes or any moving object. I find this really helps me keep the bird etc within the VF. I also try to use a shutter speed of anywhere from 1/350 to 1/1000 sec to eliminate blurring. Hope some of this might be useful or give you some ideas to try. Jim

You guys have got to stop with the bird pictures! You are forcing me to investigate a long lens! What a great shot. This one is particularly nice because of the dark background. If you keep shooting like this you won't need too much help!

Jim,

going to try to keep both eyes open,
on of the biggest problem was that when zoomed in and not focus I couldn't find the thing I was aiming for.

Thanks for the nice remark also, I think I might have a perfectionist strike in me when ik comes to photography.
