I realize this is a very stupid question. But do you know what this is? I am referring to the piece in the middle that is being used as a planter now. The concrete base was probably 20-30 feet tall and you could probably stand up in the archway underneath the thing.

Thanks

I don't know for sure, but because of the rollers under it I would assume it could tip at one time. Therefore I wonder if it was used to pour molten steel? With those smoke stacks in the back I would think someone was producing a lot of heat. Then again, with the way the front looks, perhaps its the mummified body of some alien, iron based, life form, which having left the sun millions of years ago, froze to death when the earth finally cooled down. With global warming, perhaps...

I have To agree with lyrics51. Maybe a relic of a Foundry Or Iron Mill.

I would guess part of a foundry or something with molten steel - tipped the molten metal out into a form of some sort below, perhaps? Maybe for steel rods or poles?

Does it look like it was on rails? For sure it dumped stuff but what that would be is the question, but I figure if it isn't on rails it might not have been molten steel?

I like the alien and tortoise theories the best. The item is quite large and you can see it from satellite photos. The item is on rollers and a rail or at least that is what it looks like. I will need to do some more research.
Thanks
