I just got a K100D. Is there a way to set the camera to only use the center focus point instead of the camera choosing from the 9 available?

Yes - the option is in one of the menus. I'm at work (don't have the manual or the camerahandy)and can't remember exactly where it is now in the menu.

Hit Menu > Within the Rec. Mode Menu, scroll down to Swtch dst msr pt > your's is set to AUTO, the next one down allows you to manually chooses any of the focus points by using the arrows, the final one allows you to only use the centre point.

Also, if you set it to the second option, you can go to Custom Setting Menu > Down to OK btn when shooting > and choose Center of AF Point. Pressing the OK button will switch back to center point from any other point you had been using.

Why not just read the manual and it will save you asking such a question?

No need to worry about asking questions. Some people get a little prickly at times. If you don't ask, then how will you learn.
