Hi Neil,

From I have read the only differences would be in the firmware. It operats thesame and uses all of the pentax mount lenses. From the Pics I have seen taken by one they are just as good.

Also I have read there are some great deals on them in your neck of the woods. cheaper then the Pentax K10D. I think the best price for the Samsung was at a place called TEDS? It was around 650 or less in your money (pounds?).

Hope this might be of some help.

Hi Neil,

AFAIK, other than the firmware, the two main differences are that the K10 uses PEF for one of its RAW formats, and the Samsung cannot use the Pentax battery grip (it might not have the port on the bottom of the body). It also has rectagular buttons, but that really doesn't amount to anything.

And according to a review i read, there is a slight differencein the right hand grip, the Samsung being a little deeper. Better, according to the reviewer. Maybe that's why the battery grip doesn't fit.

Hi Kjell,

A battery Grip is on the list of options for the Samsung. But it has not been released yet.

Big difference in the UK prices.

K10D £599 body only

GX10 £649 with 2 kit lenses

Does this mean that the Samsung is inferior to the Pentax?

I should soon be the proud owner of a GX10D if Argos have any in stock.

Can't wait.

Knew you couldn't hold out until the summer Neil... nice one.

On a different note I was watching a new K10D on e-bay yesterday. NO RESERVE from South Africa, started at £0.99 went for £255 plus £25 postage. Do hope it was a genuine buy...
