This past weekend my wife and I went up to Titisee/Neustadt for a weekend break. To our surprise and delight we discovered that the World Cup ski jumping tour was in town for a meet. Now I know most of us Americans only watch ski jumping during the olympics, but since we have been here in Germany we have had a chance to get to know it a bit more. I had my DL at the ready, but sorry to say only the kit lens. Since we got the cheapest tickets we weren't all that close to the action! I did take some of the jumpers, but figured I'd get some of the fans as well. It's not like a game, but more like an weekend event. There is jumping on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with big tent set up to act as a fest haus and stalls selling all sorts of food, drink, flags, hats and scarfs.Ompa bands, jazz bands, rock bands round out the action. The only thing I could compare it to, is sort of like a weekend long tail gate party. Anyway here are few photos from the weekend. Enjoy! By the way I have just bought the Pentax 55-200, but I won't actually have it in my hands until March when a friend of mine brings it across the pond. I wish I would have had it this weekend!

Glenn

Marvellous colours, Glenn. "Fire and Ice" is my favourite, for composition.

Hi Glenn,

Glad you had fun. I take pictures for a world class Ski Jumps here. Our Ski jump is the Continental Class. I hope it warms up for ours. I am not looking forward to marking for it in -49 degree weather....

Nice Shots.
