Maybe I missed this in the past--why doesn't RSE read the K100 Raw Files?

Pixmantec was bought by Adobe, and Raw shooter has been incorporated by them into Lightroom (as I understand) . The last version of RSE was released prior to the K100D, and there likely won't be updates.

Apparently, some people on the Pentax SLR forum on DPreview have succeeded in patching Rawshooter to open K100/110 raw files.

Rick

I have the same issue here!! I have RSP and it will not open the K100D pictures.
I do have PSE and CS2, So i can process them. But i never liked ACR. Just could never get into the Workflow. So i download Silkypix V3. The free Version is so limited I wont use it, and they want $130 for the full version. I might just resort to trying Pentax V3 Software, But i hated the interface on V1 that came with my DS.
Since i have a paid version of RSP. i will be entitled to V1 of lightroom. So i guess I will try that.
There is One more that I have not tried yet unfortunatly the name escapes me now.
We will see what i end up doing.

Phil

PS: Just checked out Capture One. It will not support the K100 Or the K10 till spring

Which brings up an interesting question... will RAW ever be STANDARDIZED....

Or just yet another decade long BETA/VHS (And what slowing HD DVD's) type thing???

that's what adobe has tried to do with the dng format. the new k10d supports it.

On the "other" Pentax forum, someone has a patch that will make RSE work with K100 files. Search under RSE. I installed it last night and it works great.

The other forum must be having problems. I try to search and it just times out. I'll try later
