The Greater Cincinnati area got hit with a severe ice storm. While many were concerned about slick driving conditions, multiple power outages, broken tree limbs, etc, I am ashamed to admit that I was thinking about the spectacular photo op (shame...shame on me)! Any how, this morning, the sun was up and the area looked like a crystal garden. While these pictures do not do justice to the true beauty, I wanted to share a few that I took.

Nice, jelpee.

I can definitely picture the beauty beyond the photos as this is exactly what I was trying to do a few weeks ago when we were in a winter wonderland. Today we are faced with blizzard conditions. I'm hoping tomorrow won't be as "breezy" and I can get some photos.

Love pictures like this! We rarely get this kind of weather so I don't get a chance to capture these types of pictures. Of course, they are only fun when you don't have to go anywhere.

Beautiful. The ice really catches the light and highlights the branches. Must be freezing over there!

Thanks! The temps are expected to be between 12 and 20F till Saturday which means the ice remains. I was tempted to take the day off work just to be out photographing. Unfortuantely, I have to leave for Detroit on a business trip later today...even colder up there. I will be taking my Pentax Optio 550 with me though .

Jelpee wrote "the area looked like a crystal garden." What a great description and what beautiful pictures! We are having similar images here in Colorado, but I have not caught them as well as you did. Thanks.

Regards, Lawrence
