HEAD GEAR - action - sunset - snow

K10D with a Sigma 50 - 500

The sun was about to go down and the snow was coming and going when I found these character's coming out of the woods. I was on the other side of a county road waiting for them to cross the road. A couple of these Bucks with this years new antlers will be BIG BOYS.

I used a deer grunt call to get him to start towards me.

I don't think I want to do this. I am going back.

Is that another deer across the road???

Something is not right should I check it out.

Forget it I am going back to find some dinner under the tree.

I will wait while my big brothers check out that strange noise.

Very clear and sharp shots. Impressive considering that it is snowing and probably cloudy and low light availability. So do you have some sort of deer whistle or is it a noise that you just make with your mouth? When you are waiting for your prey to come closer (deer or turkey) do you have any camoflague screen set up? Are you hidden so to speak?

Hi royce, thanks for looking and commenting. Most of the time I wear cameo and try to hide before they get to where I think they are going to be. I carry 3 calls with me a deer grunt, crow call and a elk calf call. It matters what is going on as to which I use. Your right the light was not good but then again durring good light they don't show up as early.

Here is a link to where I buy my calls. I plan on buying a new turkey call since I broke mine about a month ago. I find the calls give me a chance to get photos of them looking and or having a curious look about them.
