Here's a few shots of some pretty tulips that I got for my wife on Valentine's day.

(K100D and SMC-f 50mm f/1.7)

1 sort of ordinary

2 conflicting DOF stuff

3 GOLDEN sharp core (especially center and other two equal OF) and ALL the rest JUST out of field... could be better with big effort, but REAL nice for just winging it I assume .

Beautiful colours, lovely flowers and wonderful memories.

No. 1 is my favourite

Nice shots reflecting a romantic mood for that special occasion - DOF at this distance would be hard to improve upon especially under such soft lighting.

Adjusting the histogram can appear to improve the DOF - added here for comparison and in no way meant to be a criticism.

I like the great color and softness of number 2.

nice shots Royce. The third one reminds me of the back end of a Star Destroyer, all be it a tad more gentle and kind! This shot is copyrighted by Michael Wong and can be see on his Star Wars website, Stardestroyer.net.

The soft focus gives it a nice romantic feel. Excellent color saturation as well. Did you use much post processing? Jay
