This is a neat picture - where was it taken? It looks like tufa next to the bird so I wonder where you were (doesn't really matter, just curious).

I probably shouldn't admit this, but it was taken in Richmond CA across the street from a Mall in a ditch that ran into the bay.

Not a very exotic spot, but there were lots of shore birds there along with some Shoveler Ducks. This little guy was really interesting, but hard to shoot because of the extreme DR in the photographs.

Doh! Across from a mall?!And you call yourselfwildlife photographer? It's like that commercial about salsa where they find out the salsa is made in NYC. Hahaha. Well wherever you took this pic, it's still a nice one.

Thanks for letting me know where you took it - a wonderful example of how to find beauty and pictures in unlikely places. Birds don't care if there's a mall across the street, and some of the best pictures are taken in unlikely places. What a great lesson for all of us!
