Nice shots Roy, I like the color in the first one best. This looks kind of like the hawks I see with nests on telephone poles on some of the rural highways around here. Is that a preferred nesting spot for red shoulderedhawks? I reckon I need to get out there with my camera.

Wonderful shots, Roy! Clear as a bell and great job "posing" the subject. Almost looks as though he knew you were taking his picture.

thanks, he for sure knew i was there and let me get close enough. usually they leave when they see me. this one stuck around long enough for me to go inside and change lenses.

Wow, great contrast and colors. That lens is really something. Is it the star?

Very nice! I prefer the A300 shots (especially the first one)over the one you posted with the A70-210, but all three are excellent. It sure looks like the red shouldered hawk in my bird field guide.
