The family & I went down to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, MN today. Fun trip. Drove down in Minnesota, drove back in Wisconsin. It's Eagle Days in Wabasha, and the eagles are everywhere in the wild down there right now. For those of you in the area, it's going on Sunday too, and well worth the trip. Even though Wabasha is only a little more than an hour from my house, the round trip took about 7 hours including lunch and all the stops to see eagles along the way.

Here's a few shots from the day.

one more. This guy was only minutes from home, in Prescott, WI. That is hte closest I will probably ever be to a live, wild Bald Eagle. I was probably standing 20-25' away. Wow!

How close can you get to the birds in Wabasha, or are they too far away to get some good shots? If you can get fairly close to them, I may drive down there tomorrow.

Great shots. I know they are predators, but they look so fierce even when perched.
