My glorius, wonderful g/f, soon to be wife (she told me to say that), agreed with the investment of the K10D.

So about 9:00pm tonight I shot down to the camera shop, to buy the only one they had in stock. For the UK version of a very good price.

Unfortunately I am working tomorrow, but maybe I will get out on Sunday.

Already clicked off 100 pics of nothing - testing the motor-drive etc.

Also found that the Sigma flash doesn't sync properly above f6.7. So that will be off to Sigma for a fix.

Only a quick play, but what a big jump from the DL2 to the K10D. It feels like a proper camera - a good weight without being too heavy, with a near perfect grip.

The DL2 is going to the g/f to try (10 months old, 9000 shots).

Sorry to ramble, but what a high!!!

What a girl - reminds me of my (then) boyfriend giving me a Pentax ME many years ago. Little did he know that by buying me my first ever SLR camera, it was just the first of many he has going to buy me. I know you'll enjoy exploring all the options available on the K10.

Thanks for the kind comments guys. Yes my g/f is wonderful, that's why I am going to marry her.

Let's hope I can live up to the K10D's expectations, although compared to Roger, I am still learning!

Roy, the Sigma flash is the EF-500 DG Super, serial number 8054467. Bought last year to go with the DL2.

It sort of works, the P-TTL symbol is on, the flash zooms with the lens, and in manual mode the HSS works. I tried up to 1/350sec. But in AV mode, the flash only works up to f6.7 as soon as I use f8 the preview is black. Maybe it is me, but it means no close up work at f16 etc unless I set the camera into Manual mode.
