New K10D bought Friday at 2130. Already up to 575 shots (burst mode is great!!).

Went to the zoo today to try out the new toy.

Great day out, lovely sunny day. I took 350 shots and my g/f took 324 on the DL2 (she likes it by the way - set on Auto).

Not had time to process many, but as a taster.

This guy is a pain to get right.

So I tried a belly only shot - Sigma 70-300 in macro setting.

PS More to follow over the next few days, as I get time to process.

Looks like you've already started to get a good feel for the camera already. Now that you've been shooting with it fora bit, what do you think of it? How much of a difference do you notice with it?

Thank Roger. I hope to be able to post some more pics soon. Only trouble with RAW - takes me so long to sort them out. The more techniques I learn, the longer it takes!

I ordered some 4Gb SDHC cards, so I may shoot RAW+JPEG in future.

It is a fantastic camera. I bought a neoprene strap for it to lessen the weight, but even so it is not that much heavier than the DL2. It looks bigger and more imposing, but again side by side there is not that much difference.

However, on the picture taking side of things, it is light years ahead of my DL2. It felt like it did moving from my Kodak Z740 to the DL2. The autofocus is way faster, with less hesitation and the shutter is so light and fast that it is easy to snap 3 shots instead of 1 - I left it in continuous mode.

I think this camera is going to be with me for a while as it far exceeds my capabilities at the present time.

Yeah, after a year or so on my used original Rebel 300D... it was a week or two on the 10D before I wasn't accidentally shooting stuff... even the half press for AF/AE is more like barely touch it..
