Benjamin

That s sounds very spooky.

Some of the minor details are not exactly correct but for a dream it is a fair representation of what happened.

Port Arthur is some distance from Hobart and is on a peninsula with avery narrow neck joning it to the maniland of Tasmania. This influence th e choice of the site as a prison for convicts from England and political prisoners from Ireland in the early ninteenth century.

So the place has a history of brutality and opression. The ruins are now a tourist attraction as we reflect on some of the formative influences of our society.

The Broad Arrow Cafe was part of the infrastructure for the tourist trade.

The isolation of the area made police response difficult at the time as thsi is normally a quite rural setting.

The perpatrator, Martin Bryant, has tried to commit suicide twice in the last week or so but the supervison of the prison system prevented it on both occasions.

Very nice shot, I like the deep blue of the sky. Did you use HDR to get this shot?

Hi;

In response to your question, I just used my standard Workflow method, but did not desaturate the color.

Ben, Thanks for the picture. I didn't even know about Montmartre until a friend took us there last spring. What a beautiful place. We spent some time in the artist square nearby. Thanks for bringing back some very pleasant memories!
