Took the camera along to work and found these two going at it in a territorial battle.

And one of the areial acrobatics. Didn't get any really exceptional shots. A little to dark to geta high enough shutter speed to stop all the action not to mention these birds are fast when being chased.

Jim,

You did good. Roy is right. Even though they are everywhere, they are very shy and like to hide behind dense bushes. I have the feeling that they laugh at my incompetence in spotting them. Whenever I spot them they are on the way out already. Thansk for sharing.

Thanks for looking and the comments. I haven't had a lot of luck with cardinals either until these two, but they were so busy chasing each other around, they kind of ignored me. If there were a little more light, I would have liked to have gotten some better flight shots. Plenty of opportunities to try, they kept circling through the brush in the same area, I just had to be ready when they showed up.
