Timing of captures are good and the natural colors are spot on.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Love the second one.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"The birds are a tad soft though.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Did you use auto or manual focus and what was the lens used and thefocal length?

Roger & vIZnquest,
Thanks for looking
Agreed that the pict were softer than usual. I did that handheld . I was using a manual focus A300mmF4 and any slight shake is very obvious given its long focal length and crop factor( 300mmx1.5) . I think I captured the moment but missed the steadiness that I needed. Cardinals are not known for their friendliness. A second later, they were all gone.

Those are some nice ones. Great timing on the second one. The territorial wars are over at work, so they have gone back to their elusive ways. A lot tougher to get a shot of them now.

Robins are everywhere now in Toronto

Today is a gov't holiday in Toronto and I had a day off. Saw a deal in the US for a Sigma 18-50mm ED F2.8 at US $299 at Amazon.com. I doubt if the new Pentax DA* can be that good (US$799) to beat it by that big a margin. Anyway I am still into prime lens only and would not have parted possession of my FA28mm & F50mm1.7.

Great captures Daniel. I really love the detail on the last robin shot.

Hope you don't mind I was playing around with Ben's workflow to see how it would look on bird shots.
