I dislike spiders as much as you, but this one had an exceptional look to it so I let it live. It was also the biggest spider I have ever seen out in person. Also if you notice I took the shot from underneath it, on a windy day with the thing swinging back and forth from about 6 inches.

The black ones die as soon as spotted because they like to live in the kids outside toys.

"The spider is a wholesome animal that helps the gardenerwith eating insects in the garden" (from a school essay)

I like the spider shot the best too, but then I am biased as I like macro photography the best. I prefer to let spiders live, unless they have moved into the house. Cobwebs look great at halloween but kind of tacky the rest of the year. Even then, I guess I make exceptions. Through macro photography and trying to learn what bugs I was photographing I learned that my back screen porch was infested with brown widow spiders. There is still at least one there that I am letting live until I get a good macro shot of it.
