Mtngal, very nice shots. I had a chance to shoot my girls indoor meet last night. Kind of a funny story...My 7th grader (13 years old) is out for track for the first time this year, and she's doing pretty well. Last Thursday, they asked her to try long jump, so she said "OK". She jumped in her first meet last night, and she won! The captain expects her to break the school record this year (no pressure or anything).

Here are a few shots from the meet. This is the 7th grader long jumping. She gets pretty good height when she jumps

Looks like you are getting some good use out of that lens.

Great timing on the action shots, esp the long jump.

Another part of the story...there was a another photographer at the meet. He had two Canon bodies, one of those huge, white Canon "sports" lens and a huge Sigma zoom (probably a BIGMA). Two monopods, etc.

My wife thinks my photography "equipment" is kind of over the top, so I pointed the guy out to her and said, "Those two lenses are worth more than all of my equipment combined." She looked at me and said, "You're kidding."

"Nope," I said.

Maybe I won't get "that look" when the next UPS delivery shows up.

As usual, your indoor sports photography is great.

Wow! I've had enough trouble shooting sports outdoors, and here you are inside stopping action. I really love your last picture - what a great catch. If I see the long jumpers again I'll try to get one of them - their form isn't quite what I remembered from when I was in school. The only time I've seen them I was really too far away to get anything good.

Great shots. Your daughter that long jumps looks like she's getting some good distance on her jump too.. Do you know how many feet she went?
