The weather is worse, 12F today, but the sun is kind of out. Got out the M42 500mm 4.5 and took some shots on the K10D, boy is that lens big.

It might be big, and you might be using a completely manual lens, but it sure is sharp!

darren,
ain't no way to HH this one. it's possible, i guess, and i've tried. problem is 7.5 pounds + the cam + 20'' without cam.. plus you are shooting at 10x. actual.

The K10D asks what lens you are using when you start it up for the SR, so I will list any number you put in. You have to secure this lens with something, since it is far too heavy to hand hold and get anything close to sharp.

Not bad for a 38 year old lens!

after i posted the ?? i realized that that was probably the case. the times i tried to HH this lens i felt like a complete a$$ for even trying..
