Sent my flash back to Sigma on 1 April and received it back today (well yesterday, but I wasn't there to sign for it).

It has been tested and re-chipped for the K100D and the K10D.

Tested it with the Sigma 18-50 at 1m and the 70-300 at 10m all on ISO 100 and perfect exposures from wide open to f16 (stopped there as I don't usually stop down any further.

Cheque returned as still under warranty.

So WELL DONE Sigma. Other companies could learn from this.

Serial number 8054467

Emailed them earlier this year when the K10D came out and they said that the flash needed re-chipping to work with K100D and K10D.

I purchased it 22 August 2006.

Now that is something I haven't checked yet, but my guess is yes. They are adding compatability.

edit - The wireless mode works now as well. I don't think it is as good as cables, as manual fiddlings are required, setting power levels etc, but time will tell and it is cheaper than £80 on cables.

Roy - is everything still P-TTL with the cables, and does the flash head still zoom when zooming the lens if you have the cables attached?

Roy

My Sigma was rechipped andgot it back the other week. Works with my K10D and DL.

Darren

If the"Off Camera Cord" has ALL the pin contacts that your camera and flash has, then it is simply an extension cord and will transmit ALL data between the camera and Flash. ALL functions of the flash should work.

Check the pin contacts though, my first one didn't have them, if just fired the flash i manual mode.

Thanks Crash. That is the answer I was hoping for.

Looks like I will have to invest in the cables soon. I have the cheap one that just fires any flash. Ok if you want to work all the settings out.
