Cable release, M42 adapter, UV filters. Decent neoprene strap.

The list goes on.

nah, no cable release! It's something you can build yourself for 25 cents worth of parts.

Already have an m42-pk adapter

....

my finger is hovering over the order button. The problem is the 40mmda lens in the cart. Lots of okay pics, and lots of bad pics I've seen too....

Hit order or REMOVE?

Don't leave us hanging - did you hit the send button? I would add another memory card, perhaps a flash (since I don't have one) and a circular polarizer and a graduated ND filter.

BOOM.

Trigger was pulled, Paypal account was emptied and the CC took a hit, too.

K100d
FA50/1.4
DA40mm

and a 100-pack of pecpacs, because they say they're good for cleaning sensors.

I have 14days to decide if I'll keep the DA40.

-Kit does gooooood (to quote roger!) at 40mm
-Cxnon P&S is infinitely more portable and does very will in daylight
-... because at f/2.8, daylight is all the lil' 40mm will ever see.

If I exceed the 14 day period and hate it.... Well, you all know a trustworthy stevesforumer that wants to unload a barely used da40mm!

Now tos ee if I can get my Albany, NY contact to grab the rebates for me. I will as usual compensate him for his trouble using a case of Canadian BEER! <---- Which apparently is an order of magnitude better than what's available in the US!

Christ this enablement is ridiculous.

That is a good start that you have right there, the same setup that I have plus I have more lens than you.
:blah:

Since you live in Canada, I would try to find a way to get the rebate, that is $125 worth of free money you got there!

You won't regret getting the DA 40mm limited. I find myself using that more than my FA 50mm now. It's so compact and sharp. If for any reason you don't like it, I am sure you can find a buyer easily when the store runs out again. And I am sure you will be able to get back all of your money when you sell it.

I second the notion you will enjoy the 40L. It was my favorite lens until it malfunctioned and I sent it in for service. It's been gone for three weeks now and I sorely miss it. I'm told I will have it back somewhere around the end of May.

It would seem that Pentax Canada is extremely busy with service. That's a good sign, as far as Pentax Canadian sales go. It's not such a good sign as far as Canadian Pentax customer service goes.

If I were doing it again, I would start with the K100D, DA 50-200, and DA 40L. If I was on a tight budget and could only afford a single lens, I'd drop the DA 50-200.

Anyway, enjoy the new camera.

Well done! As has been pointed out, you won't lose by buying the 40mm - you can always sell it.

A case of Molson beeris a good exchange. Still love their commercials with the bear (though the one with the hockey stick is cute, too).

Molson? No way, that crap is undrinkable.

Unibroue! A microbrewery woith pricey but very yummy and high quality beer. Totally worth the calories.

Anyway, Should be here on the 25th - UPS rules.

Just finished the last final exam, it was a disaster. I figure I'll be spending a lot of quality time with the toys once they arrive in an attempt to forget my pitiful performance.
