How is this done? It won't open PEF files, do I have to convert them? Is there a workaround?

Thanks!

What version of Elements do you have? I've got 5.0 and upon patching it can read K100D PEFs just fine. My beef is that for some reason they do not look as good as in the Pentax's Silkypix. Or at least by default.

Go out to the adobe site and download the latest ACR plug-in. The latest is 4.0.x or something - the site will tell you what version of ACR to use with what version of Elements.

Note: Some of the older versions will not be able to use the latest - it is spelled out on the site. I have elements v5.0 and I had to wait for ACR v3.7 before the K10D was supported - the K100D should be in v3.6 since it was out before the K10D.

Anyway - I prefer Lightroom to Elements - and I only shoot RAW from my *ist Ds and K10D.
