All wonderful (of course!): The last one is an award winner.

The macaw is a hyacinth macaw, though, an extremely pleasant bird but unfortunately on the border of extinction in it's natural habitat. It could chop your finger off with that beak, but it won't because it's so gentle. A friend of mine had one in an aviary. Myself I had a blue and gold, much more mischevious but still a lovely pet.

kjell,
it was listed as a blue and gold. that's all i know.

ishino,
i like the last one the best also. wish i had just a tad more DOF. these were all taken at the renowned Ft. Worth zoo. it's privately held and is well known. the tiger area is a waterfall of about 4 stories.
all of these were shot with an A70-210mm. if you don't have one , get one.

Glad you finally got to the zoo Roy.

Nos 4 and 6 are my favs. No 4 'cos he really glows against the background, and No6 just because it is a perfect shot!

The frames look good as well, although I am not sure about the blue one round the Macaw.

Thanks for sharing, and can you post some of the Tigers please.

Darren,
the tigers were very uncooperative. i don't think i got a postable shot.

what was weird was that at the bottom of the waterfall there is a pool. in that pool floating upside down was a single child's shoe

Had to go and look in the old album for my Aron (Blue and Gold Macaw). Yes, it's me with the pets. No, it's not a recent photo!:lol:Taken around 1975-76 I think.
