My dad is a firefighter in Salem, IL. This is a series from an Oil Well traing session they had today. These are some of my first pictures taken from my K10d, and also with a dslr period.

Here they are using firefighting foam to cool and smother the fire.


I liked the faint rainbow in this shot.




More foam.


Here is regular water. The guy in the center is covering his face from the intense heat.

Craig, I think #5 is my favorite. You got the exposure just right and it looks like the fire is beingbeaten backby the water. Keep shooting!

Love these shots.

So wonderfully clear and with a great sense of action. Really portrays what heros firefighters are. I for one would not want to get close to what these guy do on a regular basis.

I agree with you Glenn, number 5 is my favorite as well.

i had a small retail store once. a number of firemen came in. about half the time they were beat up one way or another. from training!
never new one to get injured doing the real thing.
