I think the noise problem in action shots like that it overstated. if you take any daily paper with sport column in it and look at the photos they were all taken with high iso speed and there's not much details in them anyway. even with C or N and wery fast long lens they still have to crank up iso to get decent shutter speed to freeze the action. so when somebody moans at noisy action photo like that it's best to say: go and try better with any camera. I think if you can freeze action and still can tell who's on the picture that's fine with this kind of photography.

these are both fine images

Hi Daniel and Greg thanks for nice comments.

Yes it`s a trade off, and the important issue is to getthe picture. These pictures is not taken to be enlarged big size, butto be used on websites and in papers. And of course to show the athletes skills.

I really don`t care about the grain in this kind of images.

Nice shots Geir. I really like the first one. The movement of the hair and the motion blur on the foot give the shot areal sense of the power involved in these two fighters. Well Done!

Nice shots.....

But amusingly reminds me how few organizations and businesses reallly think about their acronyms :?

WTF???? (I'm sure something like World Tae Kwando Federation)

Or a restaurant computer register system that goes by POS? :?
