Tom - The M50 macro is on my DL most of the time in the Spring. It is an ideal wildflower lens and you very seldom shoot flowers at f4. I usually shoot between f8 and f16. I shoot f11 most of the time at iso 400 to get my speed up. You guys with the K100's and K10's don't need to worry so much about shutter speed, lucky you.

Here is a Large Flowered Collomia I took yesterday in the sagebrush country here. The sharpness and smooth manual focus of the M50 make it an ideal lens for wildflowers. I realize you need more focal length for objects that move, but I'm happy with 50mm for what I like to shoot - Bruce

Those are both great shots. At some point I would like to add a 50mm macro to the stable (along with a 180mm macro if Tamron or Sigma ever decide to offer theirs in a K mount).
