You are right that the first one suffers from some compression artifacts (second one not as much), and its such an outstanding picture! I always love your fog pictures.

Both lovely shots.

In order to fully appreciate them, would it be possible to either post again with no artifacts, or link to another location where they are stored?

Very moody. I like them both.

Ok... so how do you shoot fog / smoke / mist? Many (many) years ago, my wife and I tried doing some shots in a fog then closed in around us in Dartmoor, but the shots came back from the photolab bright and cheery. There was fog, but not the "close brooding" fog thet you've captured.
