Chipmunk Visit

Pentax K10D with a BIGMA

I have seen this character a few times in the area. I am on a ridge I go to to glass for elk and deer and every once in a while he shows up but this day he decided to climb up on a rock and get a better look at me and my camera. I grabbed a few shots and he climbed down and went on about his business.

Hi Roger,

I see a lot of these guys while out shooting, but rarely get a shot, much less anything as good as these. They always seem to be scurrying around on the forest floor, where it's pretty dark, and they move so fast, there's no way to catch them. Getting one to pose out in full sunlight was nice opportunity.

Hi Scott, same problem with me they are running around and always in the shade. I got luck this time. Thanks for looking and for commenting.

I think it is correct as far as the date is concerned. I found them in a delete folder I was checking out. Thanks for looking and letting me know.

Nice shots! I spent almost an hour "stalking" one last week and never did get a shot (he ran up a drainspount like they did when I was a kid and you surprised them).

Excellent series and once again the Bigma seems to have delivered a sharp image. The DoF effect in the images are outstanding! Jay

One good thing about your story is it reminded you of times when you were a kid. I got lucky with this one they normaly of gone in a hurry.

These I like a lot, can't really decide between #1 and #2. We dont have chipmunks in Europe, as far as I know. Cute!
