The two of them were there for hours and the Snapper didn't ever bother the small one for some reason even though it looks like a possible lunch.

By the way the little one isn't that small, it is full grown and the Snapping Turtle was very large.

That's even more impressive - knowing that the little one is a full grown turtle. Your snappers must be HUGE!

I use to hunt them when I was in High School and some of the ones we would get were 45-50lb, so they do get large around here if no one bothers them.

the little one will get bigger. i do know what you mean about the size difference. i've got a snapper in the pond and when he decides to sun himself he dwarfs the painted turtles by 5-6x.
