I would like to suggest starting a Petition aimed at Hoya in regards to sustaining Pentax in the event they decide to drop the brand.
Wel this aspect of thought perplexes.... Hoya is an optics company....

Why do they realy care about cameras.... unless they are really in BED with C & N too????

If anything I would think they would pick up Penatx as a venure to produce a dedicated bed of glass for.... not to KILL it, AND make mony of the electronics as well side as well.

If the bottom line is money then Hoya should look at how the prices of old and new lenses for the Pentax line has gone UP since the K100 & K10.

The bottom line for any company is money/profits! Get the petition started! Lets get it signed and sent!

From what was said a couple months ago when Hoya announced their intention of buying out Pentax ,they want Pentax's Medical Imaging division. THATS where the real cash is and the GROWTH area is. Cameras and glass are secondary to them. Of course I hope they see the value in continuing the camera/glass line as long as it makes a profit(small though it is in comparison to the medical stuff). And there's the rub. Looking at it from strictly a bottom line view, the Pentax camera/glass division needs to make enough profit for it to be worth keeping around. And how suits with calculators see that is completely different than how WE see it.
