This flower finally opened up and the color really stood out. The plant only produced one of these this year. I don't have any idea what kind of flower it is but it is one of my favorite colors.

It's a Peony, and a very nice picture of one. I like the frame too.

I had been wondering how that lens performs on a Pentax. Looks like it does great

Tom,

This lens never comes off my ist DS. I absolutely enjoy using this lens. From what I have seen with the Tamron 90mm 1:1 2.8 is impressive too.

The frame is easy to do after some trial and error. I use a free program called PhotoFiltre to do this and with some of the tips I got on bordering a frame from thisvery forum a couple of years ago,I figured a way to make this. It is quite easy once you know how, like anything else.

If you'd like I can tell you the steps I used to do this with this program. It even has a very useful plug-in for white balance (not perfect but does quite well in most cases).

Here is where you find it:

Thanks for the chuckle.

This forum has some very incredible photographers using whatever Pentax model they happen to own or use.

I do a lot of close ups on flowers using any of the4 lens that I have (strangely enough, I seldom use my Pentax M 100mm macro lens) & tend to prefer the kit lens that came with *istDS - DA 18-55mm.

This Iris was shot using a Sigma 28-135mm which I don't really rate that highly, but it's a good 'walk about' size - apart from it's weight.

And a Dog-Rose with the same lens

These Oxeye Daisies were taken with DA 18-55mm
