don't think i have a shot of it but these guys have ventured out on limbs by themselves. i know they grow daily. here's four from today. A300 + 1.4x

Nice shots Roy, I can't seem to find the heron nesting place around here for some reason.

here's dad. these birds are suppose to be monogamous seasonally. today dad had a harem of 3 other females. two of the females got into it and almost hit the water before breaking up.

daniel, i think we are way past the frost here. be nice tho.

just checked the exif on these and the first 2 were taken with a vivitar/tokina 75-205 with it's matched 2x converter. i'm surprised. i was checking the lens out today anyone interested????

They look so ungangly at this stage - its amazing that they will grow up into a pretty, graceful bird. Nice pictures, too.
