Hopefully the issue is now resolved, but in case it happens again, I hadfound the followingas a workaround (I posted this elsewhere yesterday):

Quote:
I have found that if you hit the back button when the Explorer loading bar stops creeping and stalls, the bar will rapidly complete. The new screen won't show until you refresh, and then it will appear. It would be a good idea to block and copy your text to the clipboardin case you quit the screen prematurely, so you don't have to type it all over again.

I solve the problem by not solving it. I open another (I E)window beside my regular brower (Opera). Once I can see that the post is there, I close the post window. That is it.

Daniel,

That's precisely what I've been doing in order to avoid double postings. IE7 makes it convenient since I can used "tabbed" browsing. In the mean time, from the prior note, Jim C (our moderator)is aware of the issue.

Jim - it seems to be happening again - 3:25 PDT 6/11

That was in the battery forum - double posting and freeze-ups - this one went right through.

Thanks for the reports.

We moved to new servers and we're are trying to get to the bottom of what's causing this issue (posts result in browser window reporting waiting for forums, even though the post is processed quickly (as you can see if you open another browser window or tab and look at the post)

The servers have been restarted (second time today). That seems to allow posting to resume until we can isolate the exact of the issues Ior just replace everything until we solve it)

We've got upgrades to the servers coming in tomorrow and we'll try and get to the bottom of it quickly.

Thanks for your patience and feedback. We're shuffling around some hardware resources a bit so that we'll have more resources for improvements to the forums, with better integration with the main site at http://www.steves-digicams.com
